A Prayer for Our Wilderness
Lord…
In the midst of this disorienting wilderness we are in,
we may not know the way through,
but You, Lord, open up
the only real Door
in all the universe,
You open up Yourself,
the only way
through —
You open up Your heart,
You open up Your throne room to hear our cracked hearts,
You open up Your springs of living water so we have the relief of real drink,
You open up Your arms on that cross,
to take all of us and our unspoken broken in Your arms and,
here in our wildernesses of ache & tenderness, You open up the Way, through Yourself, so
move us through
the door of Your Word,
the arch of prayer & communion with You,
the road of Your presence….
because all we need is a way through to more of You, because You, (Abba) God, are the only goal,
Love is the goal,
Communion is the goal,
You, being the only place we need to arrive,
You, our promised land.
In the name of Jesus, the only One who has ever loved us to death and back to the realest life,
