“… and you will name Him Jesus because it means: The Lord saves.
Jesus. Will. Save.
God. With. Us.
He is the God who is so for you that He can’t stay away from you! The God who so loves you & likes you & isn’t merely a little bit for you or half for you or kind of for you, but the God who is always, fully, completely, totally, entirely, all the way, 100 percent for you¬— that He is the God who chooses to be right with you.
So God throws open the door of this ¬world—¬ & enters as a baby. He comes as a Baby because He’s done with the barriers. He disarms Himself of heaven so that you can take Him in arms on earth. God comes as a baby because God wants to be unimaginably close with you.
What God ever came so tender we could touch Him? So fragile that we could break Him?
Only the God who had to come back to get you, to free you, to be with you! Only the One who loves you to death.
and now… only this wanting the gift of His presence for than anything else….”
