Founder of Bailey Ministry, Karla Bailey, is a widow who shared a love for Abba’s (the Lord’s) work and passion for world missions with her late husband, Matt. The name of the ministry honors this shared vision for Kingdom work.
Karla is a child of the 70s, born in Anaheim, California. She is the seventh of nine children. She and her siblings grew up in a variety of places, eventually moving to Tennessee, where she spent the next 17 years of her life. When she was a sophomore in college, she lost her mom and found Abba.
Since then, she has used every position she has held: whether as Barista for local coffee shops and Starbucks, a Customer Service Rep for Lifeway Corporate and Sprint, a Camp Counselor, or as owner of Karla’s Pet Sitting as an opportunity to share the love of Abba and the Gospel Message through serving others.
She has a lifelong love of animals of all kinds, particularly cats, theatre and a passion to spread the love of Christ through service. She double majored in Theatre and Social Work in college. She has experience all over the creative spectrum: from writing short stories, songs, poems, and plays to behind the scenes work to performance. Some of her writings have been published.
She is trained in both Modern and Worship and Praise Dance. She has also been to professional Clown College and has 2 clown characters. She was well on her way to becoming a professional Stage Manager with the Actors Equity Guild when Abba moved her to East Tennessee where she met and married her late husband Matthew E. Bailey.
After his passing, Karla continued life in East Tennessee. During that time, a seed for what is now Bailey Ministry was planted. The beginnings were simple enough: doing authentic livestreams on social media of personal testimony according to what Abba lays on her heart. These livestreams became the Scripture and Encouragement arm of Bailey Ministry.
