“It is deceptively easy to think life is simply about…”

“It is deceptively easy to think life is simply about knowing and going the right way.
That isn’t the whole of reality, nor is it particularly wise.

Life is not only about activity, but also about receptivity.

I think about that often.
How it’s a strange and stealthy way to live, pretending, especially to yourself, that you’re openhanded and receptive—surrendered—to whatever comes your way, when in actuality maybe you’re trying to subtly manipulate everything in your way, to forge your own way.

What if I’m really the closefisted hand in need of being marked by His marks of surrender?

Why do we (get) have to wait for the Word to give us a word. Why doesn’t (Abba) God speak with cosmic-sized bullhorns or a giant neon marquee flashing it out:
“Don’t Miss It, Today and Today Only: This Is the Right Way, Right Here.”

Prayer isn’t about moving heaven to do things our way but about moving us to do things (Abba’s) God’s way on earth.

The truly wise want more than their dreams to come true; they want (Abba’s) God’s Kingdom to truly come.

There’s no praying “Thy kingdom come” until you’re living out “my kingdom’s done.” Are the roads I want to go down ultimately about where I want to get to—or about wanting (Abba’s) God’s Kingdom to come down?
